OUR STORY


Mullingar Employment Action Group (MEAG) is a community supported 'not for profit' organisation which was formed in 1986 to help tackle unemployment in the Region. Since its inception the Action Group has actively supported the creation of over 3,000 jobs through various interests, projects and initiatives.

MEAG's Enterprise Centres are home to  26 SME's directly supporting over 200 jobs.

MEAG also sponsor and support the development and vocational education and training of individuals through various schemes including ‘Job Initiative’ ‘Community Employment’ and ‘Community Service Program’, (currently a total of 50 participants).

The continuing Aims and Objectives of Mullingar Employment Action Group are:

  • To support the establishment and development of enterprises which provide viable employment
  • To manage enterprise incubation space and support entrepreneurship and small and medium enterprise
  • To create a central community image aimed at the promotion of Mullingar as a Town of enterprise and initiative
  • To engage with organisations and individuals locally, nationally and internationally, to ensure that MEAG deliver services and supports according to established best practice.

Through European Partnership Projects MEAG learns from countries and organisations throughout Europe about best practices in developing programs and supports.



THE ENTERPRISE CENTRE


Mullingar Community Enterprise Centre on Bishopsgate St. has 19 units of varying size which are leased at affordable rates. 

ENTERPRISE, TECHNOLOGY & INNOVATION CENTRE


Mullingar Enterprise, Technology and Innovation Centre (METIC) in Clonmore provides of office and light commercial/industrial units .


THE UNIFORM BOUTIQUE


The Uniform Boutique supply high quality, affordable school Uniforms for the local Primary and Secondary schools. 

THE RECYCLING CENTRE


'ACTION RECYCLING' provide a glass and cardboard collection, and recycle service to local business.


BUSINESS ADVICE


Our 1 to 1 sessions are available by appointment and the focus is to offer free practical advice and guidance.

Mullingar Employment Action Group is the main sponsor for Community Employment and Job Initiative Schemes in Mullingar.
